What is a domain name?
A domain name is an address in the cyberspace. It is your custom name on the Internet. It allows Domain Name System (DNS) computers to identify your website when Internet users are searching for it. An example of a domain name is: "WEBNIC.CC". Each .CC domain name is unique and there will not be duplication.

However, the .CC TLD is administered in the United States and managed by an American Company.

What is an URL?
An URL (Uniform Resource Locator) identifies your computer's location on the Internet. It is your full domain name. An example of a URL is http://www.webnic.cc/

Who "owns" the domain name?
Registrant will be the owner of a domain name (Registrant is the person or organization whose name appears in the "WhoIs" record). Registrant will has the exclusive right to ?use? the domain name for a specified period of time. The registrant also has the control over the domain, per the terms and conditions of the Registration Agreement. The "use" of a domain name can be renewed, as long as the registrant does not violate any terms of the Registration Agreement, including but not limited to Trademark infringement.

How to determine whether a domain name is available?

What are the valid characters for a Domain name, and how long can a Domain name be?
Letters and numbers are always valid characters in a Domain name. Hyphens may also be used in Web Address, but may not begin nor end your Domain name. Spaces and special characters, such as question marks (?), exclamation points (!), and underscores (_) are never permitted in Domain names. A domain name can be between 2 and 47 Romanise characters long.

What is email forwarding and how does it work?

You need to login to Web Address Manager to set-up for the 'Email Forwarding' to enjoy this service. Just setup new email account of your domain name (exp:sales@abcd.com) and direct the new email account to forward to an existing email account (exp:sales@domain123.com). We will then forward any email that is addressed to 'sales@abcd.com' to 'sales@domain123.com'. The setting of email forwarding will require 24 - 48 hours in order to effective.

What is domain parking?
If you do not indicate where you would like to forward the domain to a specific host server, it will normally be "parked" at a server for you. The domain will remain on these servers until you forward them to somewhere else. If someone tries to access the domain, an "Under Construction" page will appear on the screen. Once you have found a host for your website, the hosting company will be able to transfer your domain to their server.

Can a Trademark or Famous Name be registered?
