| 1). |
When can I begin accepting
Live (real) registrations?
Once you have submitted the US$100 initial
deposit through online payment or US$500
for offline payment, you can begin the integration
process. Upon successful completion of the
reseller agreement that has been duly faxed
back and accepted by webNIC, you will receive
an email granting you the opportunity to
start registering domain names on your site
in Live mode. Our technical support will
support you during the technical integration
process.

| 2). |
What if I have more
than one Web site that wants to offer web
address and web hosting sales?
You are welcome to implement the Full Access
APIs or QuickStart to as many of your sites
as you wish. We will be able to track your
transactions coming from the multiple sites
by looking at the unique Source ID.

|
|
| 3). |
Can I make the registration
of web address available to my own partners
or resellers?
Yes. The program allows you, as a Premier
Partner, to make the registration of domain
names and keyword available to your own
partner, reseller or affiliate network.
However, you will not receive an additional
discount for domain names and keyword sold
through your own partner, reseller or affiliate
network.

|
| 4). |
Why does webNIC require
its Premier Partners to send the ownership
information?
WebNIC requires its Premier Partners to
provide us with the ownership information
to facilitate a central Whois lookup capability.
All customer information received by webNIC
from you is covered under our Privacy Policy
and will not be used in any way to market
to any of your customers.
|
|
|
| 5). |
Can I change my Premier
Partner Source ID (username)?
No. We cannot change the Premier Partner
ID - this actually requires deleting the
original account and starting from scratch,
which is very time-intensive for both parties.
If this is an absolute necessity, you'll
need to contact us.

|
| 6). |
How does webNIC deal
with domain hijacking and other related
security issues?
webNIC authenticates all transactions between
the client and server, as well as between
the registrant and the webNIC SRS client.
We have three levels of security perimeters
that will protect Premier Partners from
security weaknesses. First is your uniquely
assigned Source ID, which identifies you,
that is hard to "guess" as it is a random
string. Secondly is the IP address, which
is tied to the Source ID which allows only
specific servers to make the API calls of
a particular Source ID. Data transferred
between the client and the servers are protected
and authenticated by 128-bit SSL (Secure
Socket Layer) as another defense measure.

What is the difference
between "QuickStart Registration" and "Full
Access API"?
There are two methods of integration to
cater for the difference requirements and
skill levels of the Premier Partners. "QuickStart
Registration" allow resellers who have not
implemented the APIs to purchase domains
and keywords or doing the domain transfer
transactions on behalf of their customers?
offline. "Full Access API" allows Premier
Partners to implement real-time web address
(domain and keyword) registration and web
address management functions on their web
sites dynamically. "Full Access API" allows
flexible and full-featured processing whereas
"QuickStart Registration" emphasizes on
speed-of-implementation and ease of use.
webNIC is constantly developing new platforms
and languages to extend the APIs.

|
| 8). |
Can I just use QuickStart
instead of setting up webNIC SRS Client
scripts on my Web server?
You can continue to use the QuickStart -
however, webNIC is a wholesale domain name
registrar, intended for companies who are
registering many domains to resell to customers.
The QuickStart process is a courtesy service
intended as a backup option, or to allow
our Premier Partners to register the essential
domains needed for their business until
they implement the scripts and procedures
for making bulk orders. Full Access allows
for:
- Bulk domain registrations
- Unattended domain registrations
- "End User" credit card processing
(the Premier Partner is responsible
for integration)
- Customization of the "look and feel"
of the registration interface by modifying
the HTML templates associated with the
CGIs
- Increased revenues!

| 9). |
How long does it take
to become live with webNIC Premier Partner
Program?
There are many factors to consider when
estimating client integration, such as technical
resources, whether or not all paper work
(contracts, pre-payments etc.) has been
supplied. We have seen some Premier Partners
get up and running in a matter of hours
and others a matter of months. Being prepared
and reading all the documentation is key
to a quick and successful set-up.

|
| 10). |
Do you have pre-authorized
billing? Can you keep my credit card on
file and just apply money to my account
when I need it?
Yes, we do offer the pre-authorized billing
service to our partners. All of your credit
card details are strictly safekeeping in
our payment system.

What's the difference
between the PITE and LIVE system?
PITE stands for Partner Integration Testing
Environment which is ONLY applicable to
.CC Domain Name, and has been set
up to allow our Premier Partners to test
their systems in a simulated environment.
The benefit of such being that during your
set-up period you can test your level of
integration (Credit Card/Billing Gateways
etc.) to our PITE environment and ensure
that everything is working well before going
live.
Most importantly the PITE system allows
webNIC to ensure that your integration of
our SRS client such as the Full Access API
is working properly so that we may grant
you access to the live system. Any registrations
you make while in PITE mode are NOT real.
They are simulated and have no effect on
the "real world". Your credit and rebate
amount will not be affected while in PITE
mode.
Please note while in PITE, your romanized
and multi-lingual test .CC domain names
registered will have "test" appended to
the end of the domain name, to clearly indicate
it as a test domain and to avoid proper
domain names to be taken up by test registrations.
Another indication of test domains is that
the registrant of test domain names will
always be "OES Test".
Any domain that is not ?OES Test? will be
considered a real domain. Any domains registered
while in PITE while automatically be set
to "OES Test" for the registrant field.
All test domains are fully functional and
can be used like a real domain. However,
test domains are usually deleted after they
are registered to avoid filling up the database.
Alternatively the LIVE mode means that all
registrations are real and processed as
such. Your credit and rebate system will
come into effect immediately. Test domains
can still be registered in Live mode to
facilitate testing but the registrant (company
name) MUST be "OES Test" to denote a test
domain.
If "OES Test" is not submitted
as the registrant for the test domains,
it will be considered as a live domain and
credit will be deducted from the Partner.

| 12). |
I have been using the
QuickStart to get going, now that my systems
are ready, do I have to perform the Full
Access API test?
Yes. Due to the nature of QuickStart and
fact that it does not rely on the webNIC
SRS client you must perform the Full Access
test in order to test your integration of
the client. We strongly urge the complete
and full testing of the Full Access API
to ensure that the integration is correct
and the results are consistent. The webNIC
Support Team will be ready to support you
during this critical stage of integration.

What do I need to run
the webNIC SRS client software?
In theory, the webNIC SRS client software
scripts are platform-independent. The SRS
Client consists of the Full Access API.
The webNIC SRS client software scripts assume
some familiarity with Unix/Windows systems
administration, Web server administration,
CGI scripting, and Perl, PHP or ASP. It
is designed to "talk" to the standard HTTP
protocol at port 80 or 443 (secure) to allow
a high level of compatibility and this port
is normally allowed through firewalls without
need for any modification.
If you do not have these resources at your
disposal, I would suggest you opt for the
QuickStart process (which enables you to
use our live web site only) as an interim
solution while you get a contractor who
has these skills. Please contact webNIC
if you are interested in us recommending
our panel of qualified and experienced webNIC
SRS integrators and developers.
The basic requirements for running the webNIC
SRS client scripts ("Full Access API") are:
1. Web server which allows CGI execution
(e.g. Apache, http://www.apache.org/) with
Perl5 (Minimum version 5.005) http://www.perl.com/ OR
PHP4 (Minimum version 4.04) http://www.php.net/ OR
ASP http://www.asp101.com/
Additional required Perl, PHP or ASP modules
are documented in the Full Access API Download
page which is accessible to Premier Partners
after sign-up through Partner Central.
